MIHAIL BONEV

Bass

I was born in Sofia on the 25th of February 1980. Since 1984 I have been living in „Nadejda” district. I have completed my secondary education at the „32nd“ High School with foreign languages (English and Russian). I loved painting until I graduated from high school, but from that time on I stopped entirely and turned seriously my attention to music. As a teenager I began to learn playing guitar myself. I gradually turned to the rhythm-guitar and bass components. I’ve been trying to write songs since I am fourteen years old.

My first favorite rock band became Queen, after the album Innuendo (1991). In the following years, my musical preferences were formed mostly under the influence of classical hard rock bands of the 70s – Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Whitesnake, Rainbow. For this reason, although I have a wide variety of musical preferences, this music has remained of particular importance to me. In the early 1990s I began to listen to Heavy Metal as well, and I was attracted to Metallica (1991) and Ozzy Osbourne (No More Tears – 1991). The metal, in some of its varieties, remained significant to me. Over the years, I’ve began liking more and more progressive sound. But my musical interests have multiplied and I will not go into details.

My favorite bands are Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep and Jethro Tull; Apart from the already mentioned, some serious influence over me had bands such as Judas Priest (mostly with albums until 1980), Beatles, Cream, Iron Maiden, Sweet, Foreigner, Styx, Dire Straits, Grand Funk Railroad, Alan Parsons Project, Scorpions, Sepultura and others, and from the Bulgarian ones – Ahat, Diana Express, FSB and Shturtsi.

In 2002 I graduated in the University of National and World Economy, specialty “International  Relations”. Currently I have Master’s degree in International Economic Relations (UNWE). I work in a Bulgarian bank in Sofia. Besides music, my hobbies are some sports (fitness, swimming, football, volleyball), although I do not have much time for them, movies, books (with a keen interest in history).

I started playing in a band in 2003. The year after I started playing in another group (“State”). In October 2005, I joined Fanagoria. I was immediately impressed by the boys’ professionalism.
